In the artists own words:

‘My formal art training can be compared to a traditional apprenticeship from the Studios of the early European painters. My tutor and mentor for over 20 years is the recognised Australian artist John Beeman.

Under his tutorage I have gained a firm foundation in traditional methods, materials and techniques that had their origins with artists like Van Dyke, Rembrandt and Vermeer. In keeping with these time-honoured methods I make my own rabbit skin gesso panels and only use quality paints and pigments in my works. In my paintings I do like a little mystery. There's a meaning for me - but I want everyone to find their own meaning in my work’
