Geoff McKenzie
Geoff McKenzie was born in Ballarat, Victoria in 1936 and even when quite young his leisure hours were filled with drawing and painting. As a teenager he wandered the bushland around Ballarat absorbing the atmosphere and sketching wherever possible.
For the past 45 years Geoff has worked full time in his chosen profession, continuing to strive for perfection. Today the results of this dedication can clearly be seen as he continues to build on a reputation for high quality work.
Geoff's rich impressions of the Australian landscape, particularly the bush and its people, have become much sought after by art lovers and investors throughout Australia and also hang in collections in Amsterdam, New York, Tokyo, Germany and the U.K.
With his wife, artist Allison Shaw, he has undertaken many painting tours within Australia and to the U.K. and Europe. At one time they had their studio at Magnetic Island, North Queensland and have since operated their own studio-galleries at Guildford and Anglesea in Victoria and Burleigh Heads, Miami, Woombye and Montville, Queensland. They are now based on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and continue their travels every year to find new subject matter and inspiration.
Over the years Geoff has had a series of highly successful exhibitions at many galleries and venues throughout Australia. This gifted artist's life has been and will continue to be a successful one, filled with the love of good art and the pleasure of producing paintings worthy of handing down from generation to generation.
