Todd Whisson, son of professional artist Eric, was immersed in the art world from childhood. He began painting seriously in the 1990s but it was not until 2003 that he become a full time professional artist. He has travelled throughout America and Europe sketching the landscape and visiting the art galleries where he became fascinated by the French Impressionists.
Todd thrives on “Plein Air” painting and is inspired by the spectacular coastal scenery and the vast inland vista. He travels extensively throughout Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria searching for new material.
“The challenge of capturing the fleeting light and ambience nature offers is what influences my work.”
Todd’s work has been exhibited in many prestigious galleries and shows throughout the country. He has also been the recipient of many honours during his art career.
